Inside Bombay Group’s new high roller club: Byculla’s grandeur revived in Estonia’s historic heart
In 1833, the Byculla Club made its grand debut, swiftly establishing itself as the premier destination for Bombay’s elite.
This exclusive club in India, the first residential haven for British officers in the city, quickly became renowned for its dazzling balls and sumptuous feasts.
Imagine an opulent setting where members would relish chilled champagne, the ice for which had journeyed all the way from Boston, US, kept pristine with sawdust insulation throughout its voyage.
The Byculla Club was more than a mere gathering spot; it was a symbol of luxury and a testament to the city’s cosmopolitan charm.
Today, the Byculla Club and its storied building have faded into history, but the spirit of its grandeur is about to reemerge as part of Yolo Group’s latest project – this time, however, in the historic town of Tallinn, Estonia.
Inspired by the club’s illustrious legacy, it’s here that Yolo’s Bombay Group has been building a new private members cub and an exclusive casino for the past four years. A luxurious hotel is also in the making next door.
